Gardena Creek Winery was founded in 2006 by Michael Ingham on his fourth generation family farm. What started as a passion for enjoying good wine while seeing the Walla Walla Valley’s ability to produce world class wines, he had a vision for establishing a small vineyard on his family farm with the goal of producing high quality wine grapes and exceptional wine. After completing a number of classes in enology and viticulture, he took his passion for farming and love for good wine to a new level by planting his first acre of wine grapes.

In 2002, a piece of land tucked among the rolling hills of alfalfa and wheat with a gentle east facing slope was selected for the first acre of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This was truly a family affair. Many hours were spent that spring and summer with his three sons and wife planting, installing the trellis, and the irrigation system.

The following springs and summers were spent with the family meticulously pruning and training the vines in preparation for the first year of production in 2005. The ideal climate and soil conditions of the vineyard produced an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that is rich in color with unique, intense flavors and a smooth, peppery finish. The success of the first vintage and the quality of wine the land was capable of producing prompted the planting of two additional acres of Cabernet Sauvignon.

We strongly believe in the family taking an active role in producing our quality wine. Whether it be making deliveries, pitching in at crush, or participating in a day of bottling, our strong family ties to the land gives us the opportunity to connect with all aspects of the winemaking process. This, for a wine that we are proud to share and enjoy drinking as much as we enjoy producing.
